i did early decision 1 so I will be finding out this week

With tisch it is so subjective because of your auditon- but your SAT is rather low for NYU.
I wish you the best of luck! I applied for Tisch too and will be finding out this week…

would you mind my asking what your statistics are? I know the audition is very subjective and I definitely know my SAT scores are lower then normal NYU students. What is your opinion on the audition vs. the academics? Do you think they look more at the audition or at the academics? I know it’s 50/50 but I feel like they would rather have someone who is talented then academically secure. But that’s just my opinion.

My SAT is 2010 with a 3.89 GPA unweighted
29 on ACT
680 on US History SAT II
670 on Literature SAT II
class rank 70 out of 466
ap scholar with honor (5 on APUSH, 4 on Psychology, World History, and English Language)

extra curriculars:
national thespian society co-president
french club
french honor society
national honor society
cappies
Community Service-400+ hours
Operation Smile Publicity Officer
Teens Against Tobacco Use
Students Against Destructive Decisions
Theater Productions (including school at professional theater)

well from what i’ve heard to make sure it’s 50/50- Tisch picks the people they want without looking at academics, and they forward them over to NYU admissions; NYU admissions then picks the people who are academically suited to the school and then they negotiate.

But you never know- you could’ve had wonderful essays and a wonderful audition and you do have a good GPA & extra curriculars- so it’s not like they rule you out if your SAT is on the low end. But thats why it’s so hard to chance in general, but especially when it comes to Tisch I think.
I wish us both the best of luck!!

hey are either of your audition/portolio boxes checked off on Albert? cause mine isn’t but I got an email saying not to worry because they know I attended my audition…

Same with me. I got the email but my audition box isn’t checked off… From what I’ve heard no drama tisch’s are yet, so I wouldn’t worry
At this point I’m wondering if they’ll even be checked off at all hah
