Obviously, only the schools themselves will admit me or not. But what do you think of my chances (safety, match, reach) at:

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
Chicago
MIT
Stanford
Duke
Penn
Caltech
Dartmouth
Northwestern
Johns Hopkings
Washington U. in St. Louis
Brown
Cornell
Rice
Notre Dame
Vanderbilt
Emory
Georgetown
UC Berkely
Carnegie Mellon
UCLA
USC
Tufts
NYU
Florida
Florida State
Miami (FL)
Stetson

You can do all or some. Just want to see what yall think. Rising senior. I will chance back. Thanks!!

Your scores are below the caliber of the schools on your list. Try to get a 33/2200 or higher. Other than that, the rest of your application isn’t bad, but it really doesn’t stand out.

Harvard through Berkeley on your list are reaches or high reaches. Canegie Mellon is a low reach, UCLA is a High Match. NYU is a Match/ High Match. I’m not sure about the rest.

Yeah, thats pretty much my thoughts too. I’m going to try to get at least a 34 when I retake the ACT in the fall and a 2250 on the SAT (was pretty sick that day, probably lowered my already sucky score lol).

All of those are reaches except for Florida, Florida State, Miami (low matches and matches). Oh and I don’t know anything about Stetson, so can’t chance you for that.
Also, you do have a chance at NYU and possibly Emory, but it’s still pretty low

Looks in the ballpark from Emory down. Good luck :)

You need better test scores. Activities aren’t impressive, but you can’t do much about that now.

Harvard - High Reach
Princeton - High Reach
Yale - High Reach
Columbia - High Reach
Chicago - High Reach
MIT - High Reach
Stanford - High Reach
Duke - Mid Reach
Penn - Mid Reach
Caltech - High Reach
Dartmouth - Mid Reach
Northwestern - Mid Reach
Johns Hopkings - Mid Reach
Washington U. in St. Louis - Mid Reach
Brown - Mid / High Reach
Cornell - Mid Reach
Rice - Mid Reach
Notre Dame - No idea (Low Reach?)
Vanderbilt - Mid Reach
Emory - Low Reach
Georgetown - Mid Reach
UC Berkely - Out of state/in state? Probably low reach
Carnegie Mellon - Low Reach
UCLA - same as Berkeley
USC - Low Reach
Tufts - Low Reach
NYU - High Match
Florida - Safety / Match
Florida State - Safety / Match
Miami (FL) - Safety / Match
Stetson - Safety / Match

Thanks for the responses guys. Just curious, should I apply to some of these high reach schools (Harvard, Columbia, etc.) anyway just to see if I could get in? Or do you think my stats are too far down that I don’t really have a chance.

I think that I was a bit unclear.

There is absolutely no harm in applying. You do have the scores with which you may be able to get in. Not looking at the SAT, your ACT is still within the lower half of many of the Ivy’s Middle 50. Many people here suggest a 33 or higher, as the lower part of the middle 50 is often made of those with hooks (such as URM status, rich parents donating building, etc). You have a chance, albeit a slim one. I said high reach not because they are impossible, but because these schools have sub 8% acceptance rates. Higher scores would only make them a reach; they are a high reach for most people.

You may definitely pick a couple or few dream schools to give them a try but the chance is not high. Both your GPA and ACT score are near 25% of admission stat for the top schools.

Buy you’re as good as n but remember financial aid sucks

Debater: Thanks again!! You have some really great advice.
