Chances at Top Colleges

I have a few friends that are in Northern Virginia which is the most competitive area in the state. UVA is getting increasingly more difficult to get into to. The SAT score will kill you. One of my friends who is a junior knew a senior that was rejected flat-out with a 4.4 GPA 4.0 (UW). A plethora of AP’s and some extracurricular. He was not accepted, because (general consensus among peers) he did not have strong EC’s. I highly recommend you retake SAT to get into the UVA mid percentiles. If you can get two of the subjects on the SAT to above 700 you will have a very very high chance of getting in. From what I hear Band is a pretty big deal there as well. Also take some subject tests like one or two (Math 2 is easiest to get 800 (high error margin)).

Wake Forest is a very good match because they don’t look at Standardized Testing and the remainder of your academic resume seems good. AP tests you should consider not reporting the (3) but completely your choice.

Best of Luck!
