someone comment on the AMC/AIME scores

Thats hella colleges to apply to. Once you finish your EA apps, you probably won't apply to nearly as much RD's.

yeah but which ones should I apply to? do you guys think it would be a good idea to apply to Columbia ED?

Whichever school you think youd feel most comfortable at, a good fit... Although I will say, dont apply EA to UNC, and berkely is really hard to get into if your outta state. You may wanna take rice off that top list and put hopkins and cornell, princeton, or columbia up there.

I guess you didn't read the whole thing... those were the schools that I can apply to EA open. Hopkins, Cornell, Princeton, and Columbia I can't apply EA open to, or else I would

You obviously have a lot of input from other people about your chances so far, so instead I'm going to offer you just a little bit of advice about applying EA to Georgetown: don't do it. It doesn't boost your chances at all. The acceptance rate is slightly lower, and the applicants are better. Georgetown even told us when I visited them that there really isn't any benefit to applying EA except to finish the application process early if it's your first choice. It's also single-choice EA, so you can't apply to other schools EA.

ok, thank you! i didn't know it was single choice, my college counselor told me the only single EAs were yale, harvard, and stanford

anybody have any ideas?

need800math,

Your friend who is going to Harvard appears to have made that classical correlation/causation conflation. Just because the acceptance rates are somewhat higher for early action does not imply that you have better odds of acceptance just for applying early.

I'd say apply to the school you like the most Early Action (and even then, only if you've got your application perfected by the deadline). Trying to game the system by looking at timelines really won't do anyone much good.

do you guys know about how much a legacy will help me at Columbia? (grandfather & his father. My grandfather told me that he has been donating some money to Columbia.) Also, where on my application would I put my AMC/AIME scores, and how much do those help me?

does anyone have input?
