generations of America

Hopefully me essay should set me apart from everybody
its about:
My grandfather who passed away freshman year( thats
why my
grades are so low) This isn't really it i elaborated on the outside forces and factors

Yeah its about how I went from a low point and decided
to bring myself back up and work hard to pursue
dreams/goals.It's about realizing my purpose and
destination in life.
Yeah thats pretty much my essay

HUGE UPWARD TREND!!! very very low freshman year!!

Another section of my essay is helping the low-income of my city

am i too soft??
it is just basic my thought+what ive seen on cc

For the UC's you will probably get into all of them. But sometimes UCLA and Cal can be random, cause the valedictorian at my school didn't get into UCLA with similar stats as yours but less extrodinary ECs. (but he did get into Cal). But overall, you are very likely to get into all the UCs atleast.

Thanks guys!!! honest opinions : ) hey I dunno if your too soft... But thanks anyway! : ) so my reaches are Harvard and Stanford? well my uncle is the dean of yale law school... but he said he cant get me in undergrad only grad school...

THANKS guys! yeah ucla and cal are random i'm pretty scared.. however all I want is:
UCLA and at least 1-2 private schools to choose from so at least 2-3 of those schools 1 public and 1-2 privates : )!

UC Irvine : safety
UCSB : safety
UCLA : match
UC berkeley : match
UC San Diego : safety
Michgian university ann arbor : match(oos)

brown slight reach
Princeton(EA)??? reach
U of Chicago slight reach
Cornell slight reach
Harvard(EA)?? reach

If he can get you into Yale law school you should attend Berkeley or UCLA and then go there. No point in wasting money on an expensive private if you can secure yourself a spot there assuming your LSATs are decent. Yale law school leads to very high pay jobs for almost all of its graduates.

yeah true... one thign that would suck if he passed away in the next 4-5 years... -_- I can't take chances its happened to my friends also.. yeah its the number 1 law school in th nation

yeah that would be... ahhhhh! And I dunno how many students from the uc's actually get into a good law school! -- graduating from Brown or UCLA or UCSD... --

btw, what are my chances if yall say its a reach or slight reach ? like is it possible to get into a reach school?

so how did you pick these schools, anyway? Apply to almost all the UCs and then a bunch of prestigious schools? Its hard to imagine someone who's researched colleges wanting BOTH Chicago and Brown. Or Cornell and Columbia. But I guess if its high in the rankings, its a good school for everyone, right?

i would say
reach-difficult more than likely rejected
slight reach-difficult but you have some chance(no surprise to get in slight reach schools)

Skywalk925:

UCB/UCLA: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCI/UCSB: Safety

all righty thanks! So just based on predictions how many of those private schools do you think i can get in?

bump.............................

bump.....................

Michigan: safety.

Hopkins and Chicago are big on thier essays -- show creativity, and your are in.

NU- match

for hopkins i'm applying under Poli Sci/Econ.. and most people are doing pre-med/science? will that increase my chances? Wow btw thanks bluebayou!! I just don't know which college is best for me...

Er isn't Princeton ED, not EA? I remember that I was going to apply to Princeton early but it was ED and not EA so I applied early elsewhere...

if you really want to increase your chances at Hopkins, look into their classics dept, which is excellent.

I guess there are many things I look for in a college, but what appeals to me most is:
A very cool high tech looking campus with really futuristic buildings... Have you seent the Duke hospital!?? Amazing architecture!

Also: I look for the academics and How well it will take me to a top 10 law school

I guess the schools I really am dying to go to are:
Northwestern
Georgetown
Maybe Princeton
UCLA
Columbia

If i get in at 1-2 of these schools I'll be so : )!

So for these schools, which one should I apply ED/EA?? Whats the difference and which one increases your chances??

bump...........................

UCLA does not have an early app...all UCs have a Nov 30 application deadline.
