Chances at Top Schools. Will Chance Back

I am currently a senior in high school. I had a very shaky beginning to high school academically due to social anxiety. However, my sophomore and junior year I have turned it around and become a top student as I was able to overcome my fear of the social part of highschool (I made sure to base my application essays off of this). What chances do I have at getting into George Washington, Georgetown, NYU, U of Florida, UC Berkeley, U of Villanova, U of Delaware, U of Maryland, U of Michigan, and U of Virginia? Also im pretty sure Berkely and U of Michigan only look at 10-11 which should help.

SAT: 2070 (I'm happy with this score)

Clearly I had a significant incline in my GPA over the four years. However, my Freshman and Sophmore year was mainly made up of regular classes, not honors. This was due to a horrible councilor who refused to let me excel.

Will my horrific Freshman year and kinda sophomore year ruin my chances of these schools? Or will my strong Junior year and writing about overcoming social anxiety help me to have a chance?
Thank you so much!

The straight B’s your freshmen year will hurt. You also got 5 B’s after that but incline in GPA is good.
Georgetown, UCB, U Virginia are reach
U Mich and UF and Villonova are high match
Rest are match

I think your gpa is a small bit of a negative factor, but your upward curve and ECs may help. Georgetown Villanova and Ucb are match reaches (georgetown high reach–don’t take it personally it is a high reach for everyone Villanova and Michigan are matches

Georgetown, UCB, University of Virginia - reach
U Mich, Villonova - high match or low reach
Rest - should be matches

Would it make a difference if my SAT was 100 points higher?

It would definitely help

Any other opinions?

Georgetown - High Reach
UVA, UCB - Reach
Villanova, UMich - Matches

Your upward trend should help you, and I’d retake that SAT again if you got a 2070 the first time. Almost everyone improves the second time. Of course, unless you’re completely happy with the score, but I’d say go for it!

bump

I’d say you have a pretty decent chance at all of your schools except for UC Berkeley and Georgetown, those would be a low to mid reach. My recommendation would be to REALLY REALLY work on your essays. If you’re a great writer, you can separate yourself from the rest of applicants with similar stats.

Like someone else said, all those B’s freshman year will hurt, but colleges won’t pay too much specific attention to that year (those grades simply just hurt your overall GPA).

Bump

Georgetown, UVA, and UC Berkeley are reaches. I’d say that Villanova is a high match. The rest of the seem to be matches. One thing I thing that may hurt you is the rigor of your sophomore and freshman year classes.

Bump

UVA is a definite reach. I think you will get into UDel and University of Maryland, but not into their honors programs. Good luck! Chance me  http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1620924-what-are-my-chances-of-receiving-the-general-scholarship-from-the-hispanic-sscholarship-fund.html#latest

Bump

I think it’s a good sign that your GPA improved a lot, but you still maintained some Bs and A-s, which may hurt your chances at the really competitive schools your applying to. Also, I’m not sure if colleges would want to see you more well-rounded; I think it’s good that you focused on your passion for law, but you don’t want to seem to narrow-minded, I guess? I think you have a good mix of schools though.
