sorry but i dont really know these colleges that well. however, ur sons SAT score will stand out the most in his application. the GPA will hurt a little bit, especially at wake forest, pomona, swathmore, claremont, tufts, and at boston. best of luck to your son!

I actually know some of these schools so Ill chance what Ive looked into. and done research on/ visited.
Carleton- reach, GPA is the culprit, high SAT will help, but w/o an amazing volunteer effort of some sort it will be a reach. I visited here/ am in comm. with an adcon.
William and Mary (OOS)
Swathmore (just for kicks)- reach, might as well
Grinnell- match
Pomona- reach
Wake Forrest- reach
Claremont Mckenna- high reach
Tufts- reach
Boston College- potential low reach, EC’s and essays as well as stellar reccs + great SAT will be a good thing.

As for Carleton, they told me they love to see leadership positions and upward trend in grades as well as sincere effort put into ECs and essays as well as a focused passion and something unique the applicant can bring to the table.

chance back
