I had an after-school job in the fall this year.

Top 15% in my school. (We don't do exact rank)

So the schools I'm looking at are:
Amherst, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Dartmouth, Haverford, Lafayette, Lehigh, Pomona, USC, Stanford

Please reply and help me. If necessary I can get more info (specific grades, more info about my school, etc.)

You have a really good shot at all the schools. I'm also from NJ, what high school are you going to to?

Your SAT I test scores put you in a very, very high percentile for Hispanic males. Take another SAT II (one in a subject you're comfortable in), get good first semester grades (go for 4.3+), and you'll have a good shot--but understand that your grades and rank won't help your case.

The five US Service Academies would be a good fit.

barnetfc: i'm from summit, where are you from?

morsvenit: i might retake chem and i'm going to take us history whenever the first sat ii date is.

lfwb dad: i'm not interested in service academies. one of my best friends wants to go to navy though. his brother is at coast guard.

I'm from Northern NJ. MorsVenit is right, your SAT scores are excellent and it won't hurt to take more SAT IIs.We have similar stats and I'm going to Haverford, so just pm if you have anymore questions.

bump......

bump6char.

You might want to check out each specific school, some may require 3 SAT II's instead of 2. I'm a little confused about your GPA...can you tell me what you unweighted GPA is? You may want to consider applying early to your first choice, it boosts your chances quite a bit at schools like Brown and Amherst.

i'm taking the us history sat ii in the fall and i might retake chem as well. i'm not sure what my unweighted gpa is. at my school 4.3 is an a, 4.0 is an a-, 3.7 is a b+, etc.

there are a couple of schools that i really really like, more so than the others, but of those couple there isn't one that i like more than the others. basically my list of schools has tiers and there are 3 in the first tier but there isn't one in the first tier that stands out more than the other two. i was thinking of applying early to stanford because its the only one that is early action as opposed to early decision.

any more help?

anyone? ...
