Please consider my chances to the following schools:
Penn(Wharton)--ED
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
MIT
Emory
Cornell
Columbia
NYU
Duke
UChicago
Northwestern

is that weighted or unweighted gpa?

The bad news is that you're asian. The good news is that your scores (especially your APs) are really incredible.

You're actually a competitive applicant for Wharton. Your odds, obviously, still aren't great. But you've got a much better shot than most.

Good luck.

Why would you take Chinese as one of your SAT subject tests if you're Chinese? Lame.

I don't think you'll like UChicago-- it's the last schools you'd want to go to if you want a fancy name on your diploma-- compared to the other schools on your list, you'll be doing a lot of work for lower grades and the social scene is lacking.

I think that's because non-Chinese people don't speak Chinese.
If Chinese people didn't take the SAT II, who would?

thx ses for your analysis, us asians get the major blow but there's nothing i can do about it. and to cbpeanut: thats my unweighted, my school does this weird formula for weighted and considering that i took about 16 ap classes (our dual enrollment credits count as ap credits as well), my weighted is really inflated, it's about a 6.5 after junior year (my school weights weirdly). so i didnt put it in my post

are u aiming to do the dual degree program, where a second language sat II is necessary?

In at NYU and northwestern
Cornell and uchicago - high match
Columbia emory duke - low reach
Reaches in the rest.

With your list.. I would say the following.

Penn: Your chances of getting accepted to Wharton ED are alright.. I would say that there is a good chance that you would get accepted to Penn's College of Arts & Sciences RD instead of Wharton..

Harvard: Chances pretty small.. if you get accepted.. go!

Yale: Odds against you as well..

Princeton: Slightly better chance of getting in (especially with Pton getting rid of ED..) but huge reach.

MIT: Better chances here than at HYP.. but toughie all the same.

Emory: Should get in!

Cornell: Low reach/high match.. you would definitely get in ED, but RD is a little more iffy just for the fact that Cornell gets so many applicants.

Columbia: Reach for RD.. but you could definitely get in.

NYU: Should get in.. if you are applying to Stern.. that would be a little harder to get in to.. but not much harder that Stern is this 'far-out reach'.

Duke: Similar to Columbia

UChicago: Similar to Cornell.. unless you slack off on the essays.. then you may not get in.

Northwestern: Similar to Cornell & Chicago

bump 10char

jss330...a lot of Chinese people who've gotten into very good colleges take Chinese SAT II. It shows/helps prove proficiency in TWO languages, which is better than having your typical twinkie who can't speak Chinese very well at all ..
And I agreee with the above chances, but Cornell is prolly a match more than high-match

anyone else?

im not very good at this chancing deal but i think uve a great chance at wharton considering uve ur own online business & ur prez of future business leaders, etc. good luck 2 u!

I don't know about the others but definetely in at NYU and Penn

Why would MIT and Princeton be easier to get in?

its one of those liberal arts owns science mentalities

any suggestions on what i can improve on? and do i really have a legitimate shot? thx all
