SO guys, what are my chances?

Bump (10 characters)

you need have more credits…without that…your chances look bleak!

Bleak? His credits are fine! Your record is amazing messedupmikey… Your courseload seems decent, and your 4.0 college GPA, 34 ACT score, Highschool valedictorian status and EC’s will definitely help. Just try to work on writing a great essay and talk to the TA’s about recs. Even with the dismal transfer rates of the schools you listed, you seem to have a good shot at it. Good luck!

Are you thinking of being a sophmore transfer? Your chances look good but acceptance rates are very low. so keep that in mind and isnt the application deadline right around the corner or even passed to transfer for fall 08?

if you apply as a sophomore transfer, they look heavily at your high school application, which as you could tell was not good enough before.

Also, transfer admissions to top colleges are even more competitive than freshman entry, so you have that working against you. In my opinion you will have to wait another year if you stand a chance.

I still think you should apply, since you have a x% chance to get accepted as opposed to not applying and having a 0% chance. To a certain degree, college admission is a crapshoot. If you’ve got a good enough record, which I think you have, one small thing in your recs or essays can get you in. I think you have a good shot especially at Dartmouth, as its transfer rates are in the two digits.

the thing i like abt ur stats…is not only are u an excellent student at four-year … but ur awards…community service…major…ec’s…spans a wide arena…ranging from athletics…to academia…

Columbia’s transfer rate is also in the two digits, if I’m not mistaken. So give it a shot there too.

Why would they look heavily at you high school application? They have already looked at it before.

by heavily he means more heavily than they would if you were applying for your junior year. You will only have half a year’s worth of material on your college record, so they will still heavily rely on your highschool record.
