I doubt you would get into Harvey Mudd. It’s a math, science, and engineering school and you have nothing suggesting that you’re interested in or good at math or science.

Stanford (early action)- reach
USC- high match
UCLA - reach
UC: Berkeley - reach
UC: Irvine - low match
Pepperdine- low match, but doubt you’ll be rejected
Pomona- reach
Claremont McKenna- reach
Pitzer- nice match. would even peg as a low match.
Harvey Mudd- reach
Harvard- high reach
Columbia- reach

Throw some safties on this! I don’t see anything stringing these schools together except for the CA address…

There are some really nice schools out there that would love to have you and would give you a great college experience and aid. Don’t get too caught up in prestige or location.

haha thanks. I LOVE California so I’m heartbound to going there. I need out of my state!! lol but i did apply to UNL, Nebraska Wesleyan and Creighton and got full rides to all of em… so I’m not worried about safeties =)

if you’re wondering why I love Cali so much… i have relatives that live out there (one is a coach at USC) and I stay there like at least a month every year so its like my second home =)

Your GPA is excellent, and so are your ACT scores. Your SATIIs could be raised by a bit though, but this is made up for with your excellent ECs.

Stanford (early action): Reach
USC: Lower Match
UCLA: Low Reach
UC: Berkeley: Low Reach
UC: Irvine: Safety
Pepperdine:Safety
Pomona: Low Match
Claremont McKenna: Low Reach
Pitzer: Safety
Harvey Mudd: Low Reach
Harvard: High Reach
Columbia: Reach

Just as a quick note, I think people here are definitely underestimating the selectivity of Pomona and Harvey Mudd. I would definitely put them among mid-reach level.

I agree with proletariat.Pomona and Claremont McKenna each had a 15.7% acceptance rate for the class of 2013 and HMC’s 32% acceptance rate is incredibly deceiving as its applicant pool is very self selecting. You’re a very good candidate but I don’t think any of the 3 are “matches” for anyone. They’re not as difficult as the upper ivies/Stanford in general but their admissions shouldn’t be underestimated.

Stanford/Harvard/Columbia are very high reaches due to your SAT II scores and even the ACT an extent. Your EC’s are good and so is your transcript/grades so you’ll be competitive at Berkeley and UCLA.

I agree with proletariat2 and theajay89 - Pomona, CMC and HMC and all very difficult schools to get into. My D was accepted to UC Berkeley, but rejected by CMC. Furthermore, Pitzer should not be considered a safety by most - they accepted only 20% of their applicants in Spinng '08 and look for much more than just standardized test scores when evaluating applicants.
