I'm Asian and plan on doing early decision to Tufts ED1 and early action to Boston College. Do you think that I have a chance at all at Tufts and BC?
Your replies would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, your GPA and SATs are low -- can you bring your SAT scores up at least by taking them again in Oct? You definitely are thinking right that your best chance at Tufts is applying early but I cant' tell if you'll be deferred or not... Anyone else?

By the way, you could post this question in the Tufts forum , more people would find it there.

All the unweighted and weighted GPA scales always confuse me... actually, I don't think your SAT I scores are all too shabby, but try pulling the CR past 700, I've heard that's a magic number :) You're only one question away, I think you can do it! You need to work on the USHIST/MATH IIC (720 on IC but 690 on IIC? hmm) though, so I'm not sure how that's going to work out if you're applying ED1 - you could forego the retaking of the SAT I and take the SAT IIs in October (Tufts ED1 deadline is Nov 15th, right?), scores come out first week of Nov, I believe...

Your ECs are amazing. I think you stand a pretty good chance actually, depending on your class rank/decile :) A 4.34 at my school paired with a 2140 would be a most likely admit at BC, probably at Tufts... but out of a class of 415, probably only the top 10 or so have even remotely close to that weighted GPA, haha (crazy hard teachers, arg!)

Also, Tufts and BC both have an abundance of asian applicants, which kind of doesn't help (that's bad for me too, lol) I'm applying to Tufts and BC as well, I contemplated applying ED1 to Tufts for AGES but I have a new first choice now, lol... but maybe I'll see you there next year ;)

lolabelle - thanks for your suggestions. i am retaking the SAT again in two weeks. where can i find the tufts forum?
danman - is that true? i thought that Boston College was early action.. not single early action. but thanks, i will check again.
precocious - i will be retaking my SAT's again :) but tufts also has ED round 2. im thinking of retaking the SAT II Math IIC again (if i really need to) and apply to tufts with that new score. hopefully, i'll see you there =D

Do you guys think that i would have a much higher chance of applying to tufts with a better SAT II math score and great first quarter grades & when do you need to reply back to a school if you're accepted through EA?
