<p>class rank: 25/450
GPA: about 88 unweighted, 4.0 weighted.
grades have had an upward trend since freshman year.
Senior in high school taking all IB classes
my SAT score is a very sad 1790.
hispanic.
from a very poor region of the united states.</p>

• Co-founded and holds position of Director of Public Relations in the federal non profit corporation F.R.I.D.A. Aimed at fostering the artistic abilities of 6th graders. 1 year, 480 hours.
• Assisted in running a the Maquila Dora Family Fun Day, 15 hours
• Helped establish EPOCH productions, which hosts local music shows. 1 summer, 40 hours.
• Assisted in the Special Olympics, 10 hours.
• Attended and staffed debate tournaments for the National Hispanic Institute’s Young Leaders Conference. 5 tournaments, 480 hours.</p>

• Received 4th place at the national “We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution” competition in Washington D.C.

<p>Obviously, if you can improve your SAT scores things should be better. It a bit surpirsing that with an 88 average in the class (and being within the top 6% of the class), you managed only 1790 in SAT. Did you prepare at all for the tests?</p>

<p>I advise also applying to some of the non-SAT top LACs like Middlebury, Bowdoin, and Bates. You'll have a strong shot at these top schools.</p>

<p>Might want to look at Holy Cross-top30 LAC- 1 hour from Boston. Holy Cross ia SAT optional.</p>

<p>I'd be surprised if you got into Amherst, Gtown or Tufts. BC and NYU are probably good matches for you.</p>
