I know that my chances probably aren't good, but I figured that it never hurts to ask!

Well, your SAT and ACT scores are low for Tulane. If you can retake the SAT and get closer to a 650 on each section, or get a 28+ on your ACT you would be in better shape. Your EC’s are great however, and there would be plenty of other colleges that would love to have you. If your heart is set on Tulane however, I’d suggest applying ED, and using your strength in writing to create some kick-ass essays, and get gret recs. I’d also strongly suggest retaking SAT or ACT, whichever you feel better about. As of now, I would classify Tulane as mid-Reach for you. Good luck!

If you can chance me back:

Small correction, Tulane does not have ED, but they do have SCEA (Single Choice Early Action) in which you promise not to apply for EA or ED to any other school, but unlike ED you are not obligated to attend Tulane if they accept you.

Otherwise runi27 has it dead on I think. You would definitely be in the lower quartile of standardized test scores at Tulane, but your EC’s are great and your GPA is very good too. If you moved up 8 notches in your class to top 10%, that would make it an even bigger plus, but I can imagine that is tough to achieve at this point. So you certainly have a shot, but it has to be called a reach right now. I would say if you just could put in some prep time for the SAT using the practice tests and all, and even get those two scores to 600 you would be OK. 620 or so is the 25th percentile for Tulane freshmen.

Good luck!

Wow! I’m kind of shocked. Haha(:

I thought everyone would be like, “There’s no way. You aren’t getting in.”

I’ve been working on my SAT scores and I think I can have them up to about a 600 by October! Thanks everyone:)

bump.
