Chances at two eastern schools?

Location: Maryland
College Class Year: 2012
High School: Public
High School Type: Wide range of student types, some sent to top schools, and about an equal amount dropping out. Ranked very high (top 5 I believe) in standardized tests throughout state, however.</p>

<p>Academics:
GPA - Unweighted: 3.66
GPA - Weighted: 4.15
Class Rank: top 15%
Class Size: 300</p>

<p>Scores:
SAT I Math: 650
SAT I Critical Reading: 600
SAT I Writing: 560</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
National Honor Society
School Drama Club
Future Business Leaders of America</p>

<p>Leadership positions:
Head of stage crew and set design crews for school drama club.</p>

<p>Athletics: Basketball</p>

<p>Volunteer/Service Work: Camp Counselor for four years at a local church.</p>

<p>Colleges of Interest:
I have already applied and been accepted to Penn State.
I am curious about my chances at Virginia Tech and University of Maryland: College Park.</p>

<p>I owe you for your help. I think you'll probably get into Virginia Tech without a problem. Maryland is probably on the harder side, but you should get into UMD as well. Good luck!</p>

<p>If you got into PSU OOS you should get into UMD IS, and Tech is a gimme.</p>

<p>Definitely VTech and almost certainly UMD. I think you GPA helps you alot for them.</p>
