chances at U of Miami when applying ED

<p>hey so i applied ED to university of miami...and my stats are:</p>

<p>-1390 SAT score (710 math, 680 verbal)
-3.8 weighted GPA (their avg is like 4.0 weighted i hear)
-applying pre-med
-did internship at physical therapy site
-participated in field hockey, tennis, orchestra, peer mediation, NHS
-Asian (theyre only 8% asian or something)</p>

<p>so basically i find out in a couple weeks anyway but im still stressing out...and i was wondering...are people really preppy there? cause i am and i was just wondering :-)</p>

<p>you will EASILY get in so dont fret. my stats are very similar to yours, but my SAT is only a 1370, and gpa-3.91 weighted. i am applying RD though. we will both get in, it can pretty much be considered a saftey</p>

<p>Thank god, u have really similar stats to mine and I applied there ED, by the way, we don't hear from them till December 20th so just that you know it's not December 15th like we were previously told. Good luck</p>

<p>In Miami, Fl? Are u serious? Was she given a priority app or what? What are her stats? Must know, the suspense of not knowing is killing me......</p>

<p>no priority or anything, just regular ED. She got admission letter yesterday. She's pretty average extracuricularly, volunteers a good amount. From a poor black single mom family. SAT around like a 1350, probably 25 out of 500, 3.8 unweighted.</p>

<p>When did she apply? Maybe cuz she's a minority, she heard back earlier but who knows, she is really close to me. I'm a 3.7 with 28 act w. 36 on reading so hearing that helps.</p>

<p>i think she just applied regulary early decision, nothing special. I doubt it was cause she was a minority. Maybe her mail came faster? Look in the mail tomorrow.</p>

<p>ummm they were supposed ot notify us on dec 20th and its the 22nd...still no word...</p>

<p>My mom called Miami last week and here is what they said, they said on the 15th they were mailing out letters and that it is entirely possible that we may not hear until the 31st. THat is the absolute last day we hear, we may not hear before Christmas. You can imagine my extreme disappointment when I heard that. Good luck guys, when somone hears, they should post whether good or bad.</p>

<p>so basically notification isnt the 20th...its the effing 31st? jesus that is way too long to wait...but oh well. man last night i like woke up at 3 am because i thought the miami envelope was on my bed. i dont think this is healthy...lol</p>
