Chances at u penn/cornell?

hey dudes; i REALLY want to go to cornell, and i was wondering of my chances to get in. but i'm also applying to u penn. I'm from Canada, by the way. i dont think that'd be grounds for rejection, but anyways, here are my stats:

Full IB diploma (so pretty much like taking all AP courses if you havent heard of IB)
About a 3.7 GPA all things considered for all years of high school.
Definitely top 10, perhaps top 5% in my school.
SAT scores - 740 V/680 M
SAT II - took Bio/Writing/Math IIC, getting results in a week or two. Might take writing again 'cause i ran out of time.

Extracurriculars
Cross Country running (12)
Play Hockey (10, 11, 12)
Refereeing hockey (10, 12)
Teaching guitar (10,11,12)
Playing guitar/getting lessons (10,11,12) (also in a band if that helps)
Accepted to Harvard Youth Leaders conference in paris (12)
Did mcGill secondary schools united nations as well as calgary model united nations (11,12)
Active member of debate club (11, 12)
Elected member of student government (there's about 6 of us representing the school of 2000) (11, 12)
Volunteer coordinator of our school (11, 12)
Volunteer myself at a hospital (11, 12) and at the school itself, before becoming the volunteer director, and i still volunteer at the school (10, 11, 12)
Assistant editor of newspaper (11) Editor (12)

Good teacher references, good essays. As you can see i have a lot of ECs but my sat scores arent that great. Which is weird, because I got a 7 on the IB math exam (highest possible).

so yeah, i was wondering if you guys knew/could guess what chances I had. Thanks a bunch! I don't really know too much about the admissions process, so all help is great.
by the way i'm applying to either the college of human ecology or arts and sciences at cornell. thanks again.

Your sports combined with your strong scores and decent GPA should make you a pretty good candidate at both U. Penn and Cornell. Especially at Cornell. Are you going to apply there ED?

nah, i'm far too late. i'm just doing RD. But Cornell is by far my favorite school (Much better than like university of Toronto and what not in Canada which i'm not too keen on going to)

Yeah, Cornell is, statistically speaking, supposed to be much easier than U.Penn to get into. I think you'd make a great candidate for Cornell.

thanks so much for your kind words. I really know jack about this college admissions process (all i know is that i've taken the hardest courses in my school and gotten raped many times on the ridiculous tests but still wound up with a highish average).

What about Brown university? Think I have more or less of a chance at that?

Also, is UPenn ridiculously difficult? Do I even have a shot?

All the Ivies seem to reject good students without reason. Penn's admit rate was slightly higher last year than Cornell's (after counting waitlists), but even so, your have a 30-40% chance of getting into one of them, in my opinon.

Cornell is pretty tough on GPA, so yours would be borderline.

altho your stats are good, it is always to good to apply to a few non-ivies cuz they can be unpredictable.

thanks guys. In terms of non-Ivy schools, I thought of applying to Rice. Do you think this would be a good choice?

i would reccomend the asian farm school known as Rice
