UC Santa Cruz is my dream school, I’d do anything to go to a UC. Clearly the top tier ones are out of reach, but what about UCSC, UCR, UCM, or even UCI? Thanks!

UC GPA is a below average for UCSC but on target for UCM. ACT is at the average for UCSC so if you have strong essays along with your leadership positions in your EC’s, this could be enough to get you an acceptance. Your SAT subject tests although not required/recommended will also help.

UCR/UCM are Match schools and UCI would probably be a Low Reach since they like high GPA’s over test scores. It is definitely worth your time to apply but I would add at least 1-2 safety schools to your list, possibly your local CSU?

I agree, your stats are a little light but, a strong application could do the trick for UCSC but, you just never know with UCs, add a CSU or two as a fall back. SDSU and CSULB are worth a look.
