Chances at UC Schools?

Hello everyone, I am a high school senior in Florida and I am looking to apply to UC schools soon. I was wondering which ones were within my grasp. I know that UC schools don’t put as much priority on out-of-state students, so I am hoping that won’t hurt my chances too much.

I was nominated for a school award for responsibility by my Algebra 1 teacher in 9th grade.

I was also curious, if I cannot get into any desirable UC schools, how do the CSU schools compare to UC?

Thanks!

Actually I’ve heard UCs enjoy accepting OOS students because you have to pay like 55k per year total to go to UCB.

What is your UC GPA?
https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Test scores? Intended major? UC GPA weighted capped and fully weighted?

Several CSU’s are on par with some of the UC’s such as Cal Poly SLO (Engineering/CS/Business/Architecture), San Diego State (Business/STEM/Nursing), Cal State Long Beach (Nursing/STEM), Cal Poly Pomona (Engineering/CS), San Jose State (CS)

The issue is that as an OOS student you will receive no financial aid other than any federal aid you are eligible for at these schools. Price Tags for UC’s around $55k-60K/year and CSU’s are $36K-40K/year.

I knew I was missing something, sorry about that.
I got a 1350 on the new SAT and I am currently looking into a major related to biology or perhaps the medical field.
According to an online UC GPA calculator, I would have a 3.61 GPA weighted and capped.

Thanks for the information on CSU’s!

Based on your posted grades, I get a 3.64 capped weighted and fully weighted UC GPA. You only get extra honors points for AP classes taken 10-11th.

If this is your correct UC GPA, then most of the UC’s will be a tough admit. UC’s are very GPA focused and although your SAT score is in range for many of the UC’s, your GPA is on the low side.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79:

UCB: 2%
UCLA: 3%
UCSD: 6%
UCD: 11%
UCSB: 13%
UCI: 16%
UCSC: 47%
UCR: 64%
UCM: 80%

Your target schools would be UC Merced, Riverside and Santa Cruz. Since you are leaning towards pursuing a possible Medical career?, you probably want to keep undergrad costs low so financially these UC’s do not make sense to attend.

You have a good chance at the CSU’s listed however, but again if finances are an issue, not worth the money to attend.
