Ok my gpa may seem like crap to most applicants to uci, but i do have a decent sat score.

i am a southern california resident and i live in irvine california.

My current weighted GPA (non-uci) at my school is about a 3.2, and my cumulative SAT score is 2150.

in my sat I:
CR: 650
math: 770
writing: 730

sat 2s:
united states history : 680
math level 2: not taken yet
literature: not taken yet

schools i am applying to:
uci,
ucd,
ucr,
ucm,
ucsd,
ucsdb

Throughout high school i have enrolled in many various AP courses(which i obviously didn't do that great it), however, of the three ap exams i have taken so far, i have recieved a 5 in ap european history, 4 in literature and composition, and a 4 in ap united states history.

my extracurriculars are off the top however, i am a very very active musician and percussionist in my school and community. all throghout my four years in high school, i have held leadership positions in my school's marching band, wind ensemble(highest concert band out of three), symphony orchestra, jazz band, drumline, percussion esnemble, and i am currently also in ap music theory this year.

i have performed in a prestigious youth orchestra, the Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble, a highly competetive and demanding youth ensemble that has performed at world class venues.

i have been very busy these last years in high school, and they have been hectic.

i have a leadership position in a school club and i am also a leader of an independent fundraiser for a special education school in india.

The thing is, i don't attend any normal high school. i attend university high school in irvine california, and despite being a public school, academically my school has been ranked number 67 in the nation out of over 10,000 schools. Academics at my school are very very rigorous, and it is not uncommon for students to have low gpas like me, but do well on national tests such as the sat, ap exams, and sat 2s.

funny thing is, my school is literally 5 minutes walking distance from uci. infact, that's where our school got its name, since our high school is adjacent to uci. since my school is rigorous and on the same turf as uci, uci has historically recognized that. literally 90% of all applicants from my school with above a 3.0 weighted have gotten in, im not even joking. the acceptance rate for my high school is ridiculously high for uci compared to other high schools. the same goes for ucs, with the exception of sd, berkeley, and la.

however this last year, with extensive budget cuts, rejections have increased.

i also have a special condition which i will write about in my third essay. i am a visually impaired person, and throughout my life i have suffered various eye diseases. in 7th grade, i underwent a corneal transplant in my left eye(i would be blind today had i not had it treated), and since then, i have gone through much challenges maintaining my eye and taking constant caution of it. i still have some visual impairment, and my eyes get very red, and especially when im under lots of stress, my eyes could get damaged. i have gone through much more than the average high school student.

despite this problem, i have struggled and put out my best effort and have been an active student and musician.

i wish to major in history for my undergad, and then i want to transfer to law school. history has been.

my first choice is uci, but i would be happy other uc schools as well.

what are you chances do you guys thing?
