<p>I didn’t think bioengineering: premed was THAT competitive at UCSD. I thought it was bioengineering at UCSD that was the impacted major. However it is still engineering so it will be competitive, but it is at least not impacted. I am not totally sure about that though.</p>

<p>well, impacted means the major has high demand. Thus, because there’s more people applying for that major, then that means there’s more competition, thus, it’s harder to get into.</p>

<p>I think that if you want to include that information, then you should call the colleges and include it now. I really don’t think that information is significant enough for an appeals letter.</p>
