Chances at UC to UC Transfer

Hi,
I just stumbled on this forum, and I was presently surprised that I might have a chance at transferring out of UC Riverside. I like the school, but I would love to experience another UC.

My GPA right now is 3.38 and I am majoring in sociology and philosophy. I have pretty solid ec's. If fall grades count, I'm confident that I can bring it up to about 3.5.

Can you give me my chances at:
UCI
UCSD
UCLA

Oh and one more thing. What major should I apply under?

Thanks!

I think you have a good chance at the schools. Each school you mentioned is kind to transfers.

May be hard at UCLA, simply because sociology is impacted and your gpa isn't competitive enough. Just be sure to complete GE at riverside to qualify for uc reciprocity (fullfillment of gen ed at ucr covers gen ed at ucla). And complete pre-reqs, as they are an important part of the admit process.

the choice of major is up to you. study what interests you.

If the only reason you want to transfer is to "experience another UC" I'd say, hang out at UCI for another two years and go to grad school or something. As excited as I am about transferring this fall, I wish a million times more I'd started somewhere I was happy as a freshman. A lot about it is just realllly hard, there isn't as much time to do anything, like internships and study abroad and spreading out major classes over, oh, two and a half or three years instead of two, or less because of the classes you have to take at that school.

Not to discourage you if it's really what you want, but it's not really /fun/.

I made good friends at Riverside, but I feel that it is time to move on. Sadly, I've experienced all that Riverside has to offer. It has been great. Chances are that if I do not get into UCSD or UCLA, I will still be a happy camper at UCR.

bump! bump bump

looks good for uci.

Your best and easiest way for transfer would be by going to your academic advisor and asking him or her about an inter-campus transfer.

I think I want to transfer form UCI to UCSD

I got into UCSD before… so I don’t know if I can do it again.

My high school GPA was 3.97

My SAT’s were 1670

My SAT II’s were

Bio: 680

Math II: 540

And I got a 3 on my APUSH exam.

I am so unhappy with UCI … HELP

why did you bump two old threads? post your own geez
