Hello I was wondering what my chances were at UC / USC. I recently applied but I'm just curious :P

UC's applied to: Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, Davis, UC Irvine, UCSD

GPA UW- w/ Freshman year 3.74
w/o freshman year - 3.805
UC GPA - 4.04

***For the UW GPA at UC, do they calculate the +/-'s? as in, is there a difference between an A- and A?

SAT II Chem - 680

6 AP's, 317 hours of volunteering at a hospital, tons of club activity (president of one), + a job

SAT - 1980
CR: 570
M: 700
W: 710 (10 Essay)

Huge increasing grade trend

As an OOS student that is low income, I assume you are looking for financial aid?? You will get little to no FA from the UC’s so you are looking at a $55K /year price tag. USC would be a better choice but your SAT score could be higher.
UCLA/UCB: Low reach
USC/UCSD: High Match
UCD/UCI: Match

+/- are not used for grades

@Gumbymom Yes, I will be looking for financial aid. I thought USC was known for being a very pricey school? I haven’t looked much into their financial aid.

I was shocked with my SAT score for critical reading, but I thought it totally would have wrecked my chances of getting in. It’s a comforting to know that UCLA/UCB are low reaches, especially since I was convinced that I would have a slim to no chance of getting in, haha.

Thank you for your response!

Forgot to mention this, but my major is Chemistry in L&S

USC is pricey but you have a better chance for financial aid at a California private. You will not get any financial aid from the UC’s as an OOS. I hope you have some afforable safeties on your list.
