Chances at UCL Grad school

Hello!

I have no idea about the kind of chance I will have as an applicant to the business psychology major at the UCL grad school. Does anyone know how competitive it is to get in as an international student? Is it difficult? I come from a top 20 US school, my overall GPA will be only about 3.55 and my major GPA (psych) will be about 3.8 by the time I graduate. I will also have a minor in gender and health. I have tons of working and extracurricular experience, but I have no clue how much emphasis UK schools put on extracurricular and work experience like the US.

Thanks for replying!

UK graduate schools consider only your academic criteria. It would help if you told us about your current school. UCL will usually accept students with a GPA of 3.7 and above. However, depending on your school, this can often be reduced to a GPA of 3.5.

UCL treats all applicants from Europe equally. Applicants from the U.S. may find it slightly harder to gain admission, but a significant portion of the student body has international backgrounds. You will not be at an unreasonable disadvantage.

I go to University of Michigan, which is known as one of the best public colleges, but are UK schools big on ivy league names and such?

British schools require non-top school students to have almost perfect GPAs. However, the University of Michigan is one of the most prestigious institutions in the U.S. As such, your GPA should fall within the range to apply.

You should also try to get excellent professor recommendations.
