Chances at UCLA and CAL

ok so I attend Laguna Hills High, CA; its a competitive high ranked public school in CA that usually gets about 15 acceptances to UCLA and Berkeley each year

Im the current valedictorian of the 2011 class with straight As ever since.
I took 2 years of orchestra and 2 years of MUN and 4 years of Spanish.
Part of several community service clubs and have about 100 hours.

but I'm mostly worried about my SAT score, which is 1980 (i got the same score 3 times); but I did well on SAT subjects: 760 in US hist and 740 in math lvl 2

I also got a 2 in AP spanish test, but 5s on 4 others.

Im planning on taking the ACT for my first time this Dec. and hoping to get a 30+ (which would really satisfy me cause i heard the ACT is easier and the act-sat equivalence standard is pretty much off)

Also, my ethnicity is asian and my nationality is canadian if that makes any effect

oh ya UC GPA is like 4.5 and school total weighted GPA is like 4.85

and I chose bio majors

So you took 6 Ap’s so far? How does that translate to a 4.85? Plus, UC GPA is capped, so a 4.5 (I believe) is not possible.

I took 5 AP tests so far, taking 2 more senior year (AP Bio and Calc BC); and the 4.85 school gpa is AP courses and Honors courses combined (I got 4.6 both semesters freshman year, 4.8 sophmore, 5.2 junior, 5.0 senior)

UC GPA only includes AP courses- which on my transcript says UC GPA: 4.5 (it is possible anyway since average UCLA gpa from freshman admittances is like 4.2 or something)

like i said, it’s capped to 8 weighted semesters. I could be wrong, but I don’t think a 4.5 is possible.

5.2 GPA Junior year? o_O

hahaaha^^^^ yea ***. I think ur gpas are off

oh my gosh it’s dtran! you’re not gonna have any problems getting accepted and i hope you go to UCSD with me so i can touch your jacket <3 ahahaha

can you clarify your community service hours please 100 in year or your entire high school experience?

however i don’t think the uc are going to accept you with an 1980 your valedictorian status is great but unfortunately your sats and lack of passionate Ec’s might ruin your chances

either your numbers are SERIOUSLY off, or you might be using a different scale system…odd since you live in california.

otherwise, apply to Harvard.
