GPA: 3.62
Major: applying as Environmental Policy/Science @ UCLA/UCB/UCD/UCSD ; Environmental Engineering at UCI
Will complete IGETC by spring
Prereqs: Will complete for UCB and UCI; Missing 3 classes for UCD; Missing 3 for UCLA; Missing 2 for UCSD
EC: worked 15 hrs/wk
Upward trend in GPA

some harsh reality coming your way, sorry about that.

say good-bye to UCLA. they do not take kindly to students that do not complete the pre-req's, let alone 3. also your GPA is too low for them to overlook that.

your GPA is a little low for Cal, I don't know what to say about the major, but many people here got rejected from Cal or deferred till Spring with a GPA higher than yours.

I can't really say much about Davis or UCI. I would say Davis is set but Irvine could be a toss, I know quite a few people that got rejected from Irvine despite completing pre-req's and having a solid GPA, +3.5

if you want to go to Cal, I suggest you do some volunteer work. working 15 hours a week isn't such a great feat, in comparison to some other students here. i worked 15 hours a week and 20 to 25 during the summer, whilst taking summer school.

Wait, hold on. So you are telling me that if you don't finish your prereqs before you apply, you would automatically get overlooked by UCLA? Isn't that conflicting with other people who have said they've finished their prereqs the spring before they transferred?

Your chance at Berkeley is better than you may think. Berkeley's College of Natural Resources offers two great majors: Conservation Resource Studies and Society and Environment. Both have fairly high acceptance rates. In my opinion Berkeley's environmental policy/environmental studies programs are without a doubt the best in the country. Not only can you take a lot of classes on environmental science, but more uniquely about environmental studies(the social, political, historical, and liberal arts side of the equation).

The only comparable program I found was at Washington University in St. Louis, though Berkeley offers more courses along with other benefits.

If you have more questions about this, PM or IM me or something and I an tell you more about Berkeley's CNR programs.

Your preparation for UC Davis seems great. I'm confused by which 3 courses you might be missing for UC Davis; none of our environmental programs require specific courses for admissions besides the general UC transfer requirments. Although we recommend you complete as many lower division courses for the major as listed on the assist.org site, these courses are not required for admissions unless the program is one of our selective majors, Transfers: Selective Majors . If you have further questions please let me know.

ur stats are descent
if you want to get in UCB or UCLA
start working on your essay
for those 2 schools
essays are one of the more important factors
after all, colleges want you to be able to communicate
before you are able to do any crazy academic stuff

UCLA--50% in(GPA is fine but missing 3 courses is a major problem)
UCI--99% in
UCB--50% (your GPA is average compared to admitted UCB students)
UCD--85% in (safety)
