Chances at UCLA, UCSD?

<p>Hey guys, please tell me if you think I have a shot at UC Los Angeles or San Diego. I was accepted at San Diego State, but I would much rather go to a UC in the SoCal region. I'm from California, but from the North State.</p>

<p>SAT: 1820
ACT: 27
GPA: 3.55
I realize these aren't particularly great. :/</p>

<p>I haven't taken any APs, but I took Honors English in 9th and 10th grade and have completed the following classes at a local community college to receive a total of 31 semester units: English 1A, English 1C, History 17A, Music 11 (History of Jazz and Rock), English 18 (African-American Literature), Nutrition, Math 14 (Statistics), and Small Group Communications, as well as receiving credit for French 2 because my French 3 class is high school was dual-enrollment.</p>

<p>I have a lot of extracurriculars, including Link Crew, Junior Class Vice President, Student Senate, College Connection (allows seniors to complete their senior year at the local community college, earning both high school and college credit), College Connection Senate, Key Club, Interact Club, Summer@Brown (lived and studied on Brown University campus last summer), Cheerleading, Ski Team, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting.</p>

<p>I volunteered at a local hospital for approximately two years, earning about 200 volunteer hours.</p>

<p>My essays were VERY strong, particularly one, which was about my experience in the Summer@Brown program.</p>

<p>ii just got a letter from ucsd and ucla yesterday saying i was admitted i was so surprised because my sat’s were terrible so if you wrote a good essay you will get in.</p>

<p>I have similar stats, but my SAT is a bit higher (100pts) and my grades are different. For longer stats, you can look at my previous posts. :)</p>

<p>I got admitted to UT Austin, Rutgers and Ithaca College (scholarship) but I was rejected by UC Santa Cruz. Deferred ED from Duke. I think we both have a shot for UW! :)</p>

GPA: 3.7 or 3.8 I believe. It’s 4.2 weighted</p>

<p>I got into UCSD about a week ago through preliminary call. I guess my personal statements are what got me in, so if you have statements as good as you say, along with those stats, you should be able to get in.</p>
