I am aiming at UCLA right now, and if it doesnt work out, then I will go for UCSD.

grades:
3.85 weighted GPA,
1 honers/AP untill senior year, and 3 AP's as a senior
3 college courses by the end of this summer which UC's will consider
2130 SAT I which I will probably retake
770 Math level II
I am fluent at Korean, and I am expecting 770-800 on the November test even though I only have one chance

EC's:
200 hours of hospital community service so far
4 years piano
5 years taekwondo (2nd degree blackbelt / teaching assistant)
Korean club 3 years
not much leadership except for church youth group

I really dont know what to do b/c it is too late to add AP's or raise my gpa, which is garbage for a lot of UCs. I am a California resident, and I go to West High in Torrance which I think is a competetive school. Can somebody tell me what kind of chances I have if I go undecided major.

Hmm... There's not much more you could do to pad your application.

Consider joining a high school sport next fall. You don't seem to have any, and it certainly couldn't hurt.

danc5420:

UCLA: Slight Reach
UCSD: Match

UCLA reach - lucky you're a resident
UCSD - match

Also, how much will community service help..
Do you think that adding 200 more hours of hospital will help, or would it be better to just raise my SAT I by 60-70 points?

I'd say reach but definitly apply just to see what happens. I got in this year w/ a 4.1 gpa, 29 ACT, mid650 avg. SATII. A lot of people underestimate the significance of the essays!! Don't be one of them. Take the opportunity to really show the admission officers your voice. good luck =)

^^^ referring to UCLA

UCSD = match

yo...sports team doesnt really boost your app. ur community service will definitely help cuz really...200 hours is ALOT. have a good hook and a nice essay. if you SAt score was above 2200+..ur in.
