Could anyone please give me an idea for my chance?

your SAT’s are low and you should try and retake them… However, your GPA is good and your demographic background play’s a part as well. I think if you write a killer essay and get good recs you should have a 60%~ chance to get accepted if not higher.

not really familiar with your gpa scale but seems somewhere about a B or B plus average. Your SAT scores are low a 1590 most likely will not cut it at any of these schools especially penn state, which bases admissions almost solely on numbers. I would say retake before the RD deadline for these schools. You didnt mention which state you are in but I will assume CT since your father attended UConn. For your instate at UConn, then that will be your best chance but you may get a alternate campus and may face a similar fate at the other two colleges. Your GPA and your great Class Rank will keep you in the running, also being a URM and having a job. I would say you have a chance at all but probably more of a 40 percent chance but best of luck. Also try the ACT. also if anything just focus on the reading and math section in the SAT because those are the only ones that these colleges care about.

You should be in at UCONN. Don’t listen to the person that posted above ^. Even with your SAT score (which, by the way, isn’t horrible so don’t think it is), your gpa (average) makes your application look better. CT state schools also love legacies. Trust me on that one. Everyone in my family went to CCSU and UCONN…literally everyone…and my cousin applied, had about a c- average in schools and about 1350 SAT score with absolutely no hooks and he made it in at both. And the same goes for almost all of my friends. As long as you’re in the top 50% of your class you already have a stronger chance of getting in than most at the state schools.

I was just accepted to Penn State-University Park!
