Chances at UCs for Average Student

<p>Hello!</p>

<p>I would like to see what other people think of my chances at
UC Davis, Berkeley, Santa Cruz, LA, Irvine, and San Diego.</p>

<p>I live in California btw.</p>

<p>SATI- 1890 - 580 CR 690 M 620 W (highest out of 3 times)
SATIIs- US 700, Lit 680, Chinese taken in Nov 3rd.</p>

<p>UC GPA- 3.95</p>

<p>I go to a very competitive high school, I know I'm not in the top 10th percentile but I am pretty sure I am at least above the 50th percentile haha.</p>

<p>I want to major in linguistics, political science, or international relations.</p>

<p>I am Asian, and first generation to attend college.</p>

<p>Berkeley and LA will be difficult. UCSD is possible. Probably get in to Irvine/Santa Cruz/Davis, I’d imagine.</p>

I dont know if I should apply to some CSUs for backup.</p>

<p>For in-state, I think you have very solid chances at getting into at least one of the UCs. UC Davis has a good international relations program.</p>

all UC-eligible cali residents who apply on time will be offered admission at one of the university’s 9 campuses
so i guess i am guaranteed to get into at least one. and i guess i dont need to apply to more schools/CSUs for backup.</p>

<p>i started off typing november thinking i couldnt remember the date but i did and i left it like that. </p>

<p>english is my second language. dont hate.</p>

<p>ur gpa and sat scores are low for ucla and ucb, possibly ucsd, but others schools are definitely matches.</p>

<p>so i just found out that i’m in the 15th percentile (based on unweighted gpa), and in the 30th percentile (based on weighted gpa) of the graduating class at my school. will this help me?</p>
