Your UC GPA is slightly weak, your SAT is subpar, your SAT II scores aren't very high (I assume the language one is in your native language), and your ECs are somewhat weak. Being a low-income student may help.

Berkeley/UCLA: slight reach-reach
UCSD: match
UCSB/UCD/UCI: safe match
UCSC/UCR/UCM: safety

I think I actually have a 4.1666 GPA(if that makes any difference) and I'm planning on getting over 2100+ on the upcoming SAT. I will also be retaking SAT2s. Which one should I retake?? US HIstory or Math?

And one more thing.
Is my senior class schedule okay?
AP STATS, AP US GOVT, AP STUDIO ART, H ENGLISH, MARINE BIO(no AP available), PHYSICS(AP clashes with AP STUDiO ART and had extra period), and Tennis

It would help if you could get your SATs higher, but a 4.13 UC GPA is definitely enough for Berkeley/LA. I'd still agree that its a slight reach because of the lack of "good" ECs (not that many leadership positions) and SATs though. As a guide, UCSD will award no points for community service if you do less than 99 hrs, and its going to hurt when you can't pull that many hours for the other schools too. If you can get your SAT to what you say, then you have a great shot. Also, are you ELC?

I don't know if I'm in ELC yet. I'll know when I go back to school.
I think I'll be the team captain this year for tennis and I plan to be president of the Close Up Club this year.

I think this is the first time this month I've disagreed with kyledavid80--and I'm only disagreeing on UC Berkeley and UCLA. It's my opinion that given the OP's low income status, MAGNET program status, likely ELC status, lack of available APs and honors courses at her school, and the fact that she's taken two community college courses, I'd have to rank her as follows:

UC Berkeley: Match to Slight Reach
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Match
UCSB/UCI/UCD--Safe Match
UCR/UCSC/UCM--Safety

Kyledavid80 could be right, however, that the ECs will be what keeps her out of the top schools.

I would say that you are a good bet for them, but only because I have almost identical stats (1970 sat, 4.13 uc gpa, 7 aps by grad, 4 years of basketball, and CC classes).

I asked a berkeley rep and they told me CC classes look just like AP classes, so that should help your chances!

Calcruzer: yeah, I see what you mean -- the adversity that comes through in the app very well could get her in. That's why I'd said 'slight reach.'

OK. So I have a problem
I think I will quit the tennis team this year.
We got a new tennis coach and he seriously needs to go back to where he came from and teach baseball because he is always criticizing the courts, how we play, the old coaches, and even interfering with baseball. I have a serious problem with him. So, I decided to quit this year.
Will it look bad on my application and affect my chances at admission??
