Chances at UC's?

<p>Unfortunately, my Sophomore year I got a little lazy and didn't do as well grade wise as I would have liked. I've recovered a bit with AP classes my junior year, but I want to know where I stand.</p>

<p>What UC's do you think I would have a decent chance of getting into?</p>

<p>I have a 3.7UW, 3.8W GPA
I got 2080 on my SAT, but I'm retaking in the fall because my reading section is quite a bit lower than my math and writing sections, and I don't like the way it looks :p</p>

<p>I have a good number of EC's. I have over 400 hours of community service, and by the end of this summer should have 550-600.
- This summer I am a camp counselor at the Boys and Girls Club
- I am a performer/assembly leader at my friend's family's church for their summer program
- I have volunteered at the SPCA
- I help build my school's parade floats each year
- I play powderpuff football (girl's football, but it's not a competing "varsity" sport)
- I have been involved in my school's theater program all 4 years
- I was in charge of the entire (award winning) costume department my junior year (which means I'm in charge of a crew of ~10 people, making costumes from scratch, putting together outfits, teaching mending, sewing, ironing and other skills, maintaing all wardrobes (hundreds and hundreds of articles of clothing) for people in mainstage shows)
- I am also Advanced Theater, which is an audition only class/club which puts on numerous shows and productions throughout the school year
- I am a Link Crew Leader, which means I mentor Freshman students throughout their first year of high school
- I was a member of the yearbook staff
- I am going to be a member of CSF this upcoming year (I couldn't do it before because my school is on a block schedule, and I am unfortunate enough to ALWAYS get all my electives during the same term, so those classes don't count towards admittance and therefore I didn't have enough points to get in)
- I am also a member of TBWA which is basically my school's spirit club. We are the people who are mascots, and run flags back and forth, and paint our bodies at the school's sporting events. We encourage people to come out and support and start chants and cheers through the audience.</p>

<p>I've taken honors/AP classes all 4 years of high school.
Freshman year: Honors English (only honors offered)
Sophomore year: Honors English, Honors Biology (there's no AP Bio, took all honors offered except AP World)
Junior: AP Language&Comp, APUSH (All offered except AP Chem, which conflicted with APUSH)</p>

<p>I am planning on taking 3 or 4 AP classes my senior year, including AP Lit, AP Calc, and AP Psych. Possibly AP Econ if I can get my schedule straightened out, due to me never taking computer tech as an underclassman. I would still love to take AP Chem, but it is the same period as AP Calc, so I can't :(</p>

<p>I am currently trying to get a job, which will give me a one up for work experience. Although, I already have some with my Camp Counselor job, and my job as an Assembly Leader.</p>

<p>I am confident I will write a strong personal statement. My AP Language&Comp teacher told me that I have a very powerful and passionate voice, and that I am a very strong writer. My APUSH teacher also described my writing as passionate. I really don't mean to sound conceited, I'm just hoping that an exceptional essay will sway the admissions committee in my favor.</p>

<p>Basically the thing that is really hurting me is my so-so GPA.</p>

<p>To sum it all up, what are my chances at UC schools with: a decent/average GPA, good SAT scores, a good number of AP courses, an excellent personal statement, good extra-curriculars, leadership positions, work experience, a lot of community service in a few diverse areas, and a challenging senior year schedule?</p>

<p>Would I have a good chance at lower end UC's? Mid UC's? How far of a reach would a top UC be?</p>

<p>Oh and I am a Hispanic female, if that helps :)</p>

<p>I calculated my UC GPA, and it’s 3.85/3.86 if computer tech counts. I was kind of iffy on what electives counted as A-G.</p>
