Chances at UC's?

I would like to know my chances for admission to the UC's, specifically UCLA and UC Davis. I'm not sure what I want to major in, but I'm leaning towards Chemical Engineering. I'm also considering Economics but that's not my first choice.

I come from a school where not many AP's are offered so this affects my GPA/schedule rigor. Also, I'm aware that my standardized test scores aren't very high (I've taken each once) but I'm planning to retake them this fall. Id appreciate any tips on improving CR on the SAT and the science section of the ACT.

This is pretty brief for quick reading.

Unweighted GPA: 3.95
(I have received all A's in high school besides 1 B+ in AP Lang)
Weighted GPA: 4.32
AP's: English/Lang, Bio, Stat. I'll be taking Lit and Calc AB as a senior this fall.
ELC eligible
Class Rank is 11/303
I'm not sure how many hours of volunteering I know I have at least 150+ through various clubs/commitments.
EC's: CSF all 4 years, NHS 2 years (leadership position senior year), Mock Trial 1 year, Piano for 11 years, Soccer for 8 years, Girl Scout for 12 years, Youth Group for 4 years and a leader for 2 of those years, I've been part of a non-profit cultural dance troop for 8 years with a leadership position the past year, and I've also volunteered within many of these activities. I also volunteered in a hospital of a 3rd world country this summer.
Awards: There aren't many awards given around here but I've been on the highest honor roll throughout high school and I'm an AP scholar.
ACT: 30
SAT: 1970

You’ve got a very good chance at UC Davis but you should improve your SAT scores to 2100 for UCLA.

Like above poster said, you have a very good chance at Davis. However, definitely work on the ACT and SAT again for UCLA. 31+ or 2100+ would be a reasonable goal.

Thanks for the input, I’m hoping I can get a 32 or 33 on my ACT so I don’t have to take the SAT again. Bump!

Hello fellow CC’ers,

This thread is pretty old and I would like to know what my chances are at Berkeley, UCLA, UCD, and UCSD as of now. Since I originally posted this thread, I have become a hospital volunteer with over 50 hours and counting. I have become a member of HOSA and I have decided to participate in Mock Trial for a 2nd year. I am planning on retaking the SATs but I have bumped up my ACT to a 32 (E: 34, M: 35, R:34, S:26). Although I am aware that UC’s don’t superstore, if they did mine would be a 33.

If anyone could give me an updated evaluation it’d be greatly appreciated.

Bump!

10char

With a 32 and the rest of your stats you have a very good chance at the most selective UC’s. Good job.
Any advice for me, please?
