Chances at UC's?

I'll be applying to the following schools in the fall:

UC Davis
UC Santa Barbara
UC Irvine (top choice)
UC Riverside
University of San Diego
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

Here are my stats:
3.7 weighted GPA
1800 SAT 1 (600 math, 590 CR, 610 writing)
720 US History SAT II
480 Literature SAT II
Quite a few honors classes and US History AP
Taking 4 AP's next year (senior year)

EC's:
Job at grocery store
Community service group
Galapagos Island Research Expedition
Junior Counselor at a summer camp
Director of announcing program at local little league
California Scholarship Federation (2003-2006)
Football team
Fifth grade basketball coach

So what are my chances at those schools I listed? Thanks for any input.

If you could give more specific data relative to GPA in grades 10-11 not counting physical education and actual number of honors courses in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades (and if these were AP and IB or other), and your rank in your school, we could give you a much better estimate of your chances.
Thanks,

Assuming the 3.7 is your UC GPA Then....

UC Riverside - Safety
All of the others - Matches

nschuchert:

UCI/UCSB/UCD: Slight Reach
UCR: Match

3.7 GPA would be the UC GPA. In 10th grade I took English Honors and this year I took English Honors and US History AP.

And I forgot to add that I'm an intern at a hedge fund.

Thanks for the responses!

What is your unweighted gpa (10th + 11th)? Honestly I think you have a good shot at all of those schools except for ucsd (similar friend had 3.3 UW, 3.7 weighted, 4 c's, similar stats to you).

These are 2005 stats, but:

UCSB--average GPA 3.76 W, average SAT 1182 (579/603)
UCD--average GPA 3.74 W, average SAT 1170 (562/608)
UCR--average GPA 3.42 W, average SAT 1074 (514/560)
and I don't have the stats for UCI, but approximately halfway between UCSB and UCR is my guess.
University of San Diego--GPA UW 3.66 and SAT 1165 (570/595)
Cal Poly SLO--GPA 3.7 UW and SAT 1233 (594/639)

Your AI score is about a 188 (69+119), but this isn't used at UCs anyway.

Since you have an average GPA of 3.70 W, and a SAT score of 1190 (590/600), your score is---

You know before I give my opinion, let me state that you need to know the fact that you don't have a second SAT II score that is at least in the 600 range will hurt you tremendously. Find some other subject that you can take to get a score in this range--because the way the UCs work is that they take the two highest SAT IIs into account in figuring out if you will be admitted or not.

Presuming you do what I say concerning another SAT II:

CPSLO--Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD--Match
UCR--Safety

If you don't do this (just with your grades and scores as they are), I say:

CPSLO--no way
UCSB/UCD-reach
UCI-match to slight reach
UCR-match

Wow, I didn't know the UC's put such a high emphasis on subject tests. I just assumed my 700+ in History would balance out my crappy literature score. Problem is I really don't have another subject I could take it in. Spanish is a possibility, but I was scoring in the same area on the Spanish practice tests as I did on the Lit SAT II.
