My cousin didn't get into any UCs at all last year, and even though her stats are way lower than mine, my mom is freaking out and insisting that I apply to as many UCs as possible this year. I'm really only interested four, maybe five campuses. I don't want to waste any unnecessary money on apps when I know for sure that I won't want to attend certain campuses even if I do get in, so it would be really helpful if I could get some feedback about my chances at getting into my campuses of choice so I can try to convince my mom that everything will be okay.

My ECs aren't very spectacular.. I was president of two clubs in my junior year (leadership positions in both since sophomore year) - a culture club and a very active community service club. I'm still president of the community service club this year.

I started working as an English tutor to young children last May and I work about 10-12 hours a week.

I have been in CSF since 10th grade and will most likely get life membership when I graduate.

I'm interested in UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCSB, and maybe UCSC too. I'm especially interested in UCLA and UCSD (yay, sunny socal weather!) - what are my chances of getting into either school? I want to major in History or Political Science, if that makes a difference.

Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any advice!
