Chances at UCs

Chances for UCB/UCLA/UCSD Computer Science - I'll keep it brief and short.

OOS US Citizen living abroad

SAT - 2260 (720 CR, 800 M, 740 W)
SAT2 - 800 Chem, 800 Math 2, 800 Physics

Excellent grades (we don't have GPA here)

ECs - 2 Varsity sports (1 captain), Yearbook, Acting club, Computer programming

Work - Language tutor and software developer

Various math and school awards

Good essays

Thanks!

Its hard to say without your GPA but if your grades reflect your test scores I think you can get into all those schools. Your EC's could be better, but if you're only looking at the UC's they're really good.

You should calculate your GPA on your own though, just to see where you're at. Basically, A=4 B=3 C=2. Just add one extra point to all the grades you got in Honors/AP classes. Add all the values for your grades up, then take the average.

Anyway, good luck with your apps!

We'll need some calculation of your GPA, as that's one of the most important factors. Your scores are obviously great, though your ECs are somewhat weak for an OOSer. Do you have any honors/awards? As it stands, I'd say:

Berkeley: reach
UCLA: slight reach
UCSD: high match
