im a junior right now and so far my average high school GPA is a 3.83. Im shooting for a 2000 SAT(token two practice tests and got around 1800's).
My brother goes to UCSD and i heard sometimes it helps when you have a sibling that goes to the school.
I LOVE SDSU and am really hoping i get in!
I want to major in nursing or something medical related due to a past experience which i may make my essay about.
What are my chances at these schools?
Should i have more backups? Please give me advice!

3.83 weighted or unweighted?
For UCSD ~ 3.9GPA unweighted and 2050 SAT.

What are your extracurricular activities? Those count too.

3.83 is my overall high school gap so far including all my classes. I’ve taken 1 honors class so far(this year) and I’m taking 3 AP’s next year. My sibling got into UCSD with around the same gap and around a 1650 SAT. would it help me having a sibling there?
EC: highschool soccer team 2 years and was captain
manage 2 stores
lots of work experience
volunteer hours etc

I also think my essay will be very good for UC’s because I’m gonna talk about something i went through that influenced me to choose a medical relating/nursing major

Your brother got into UCSD with a 1650 SAT? Impressive.
I don’t think having a sibling there would help you at all. Also, keep in mind that the UCs only take into account your 10-12 weighted GPA for a-g courses.

My weighted would probably be a 3.76

Keep your GPA up. With a 1800+ SAT I think you have a good shot at those schools. The higher the score the better. Work experience and volunteer work is also nice so I think you have a great shot. USD and UCSB might be a bit of a reach but not if you keep working hard!
