Chances at UCSB

I am a transfer student with a 3.1 GPA, a few extra curricular’s (Puente program, on campus jobs) and I have a pretty decent essay. I know 3.1 is extremely low, but what might my chances be in regards to getting into this school? By the way, I am a communications major and I am from the San Francisco Bay Area if that helps any.

Oh, and I also applied to Davis, UCSD, and UCSC. I have already been accepted into SJSU, but I am really freaking out about the UC’s, considering I was rejected from SDSU and CSULB.

GPA looks low for all the UC’s except UCSC. I think it will be a tough admit at UCSB since Communications is a pretty competitive major at most campuses.

Agree with the person above. Although admission into the UCSB campus as as transfer is one of the least competitive (in the UC’S anyways) because COMs is such an impacted major it might be a bit difficult for you unless you has stellar recommendations or EC’s.

Thanks everyone
