I currently have a 2.6 gpa. do I have ANY chance whatsoever of getting into UCSC? this is the only UC I'm considering.

The transfer requirements for UCSC state that the minimum transfer GPA even considered would be a 2.4 GPA. So at 2.6 you are in now way completely disqualified but you are going to have to present a good hook or at least bring up your gpa as close to a 3.0 as you can, in my opinion anyway. Bring up the gpa and apply, good luck.

subroc, are you transferring from a CCC or a Uni?

i'm transferring from a ccc. i have had a rough two years and i hope to bring my gpa up to a 2.8 by the end of this summer. maybe even a 3.0 by the end of fall semester...

thanks for you input.

subroc, if you can pull up the gpa to a 2.8 or 3.0 like you've said and write some killer essays i think you can pull it off. It's all up to you im sure if you want it bad enough you can get it.but it is entirely your perogative. good luck
