Chances at UCSD and UCSB

alright I ve wanted to go to these schools throughout my hs career. plz HONESTLY rate my chances

3.75 UC GPA
2200 SAT I
800 SAT II bio
740 Math IC (770+ IIC)

200+ hrs comm service
editor of school newspaper
winner of MTAC performance competition 2004
MTAC certificate of merit level 7 (honors) (I would be at a higher level but my sight-reading suks)

thats not all my ECs but I think those are the only ones relevant to UCs. I think

UCSD: Match
UCSB: Safety

but then again, what do I know? that's just my 2 cents.

Good chance at SD, better than 70% at SB. Write a great essay!

shouldn't you have a chance in ucla or even cal?

i mean 2200 is very good

I'd say your safe for both

my counselor told me that my GPA puts me at the reach at SD and a match/reach for SB. r u guys sure?

Your counselor knows best based on this year's results at your specific school.

Well, I agree with your counselor that your GPA isn't too great (below average to average)...but your SAT score is decent so may help you. Check out this website: p r s t a t s.com (without the spaces) The forum doesn't let us post urls or something.

UCSB- no problem
UCSD- slight reach

Your SAT's are fabulous and your EC's are good for those schools. But your GPA is terrible.

yah I know my GPA's terrible. I screwed myslef over sophomore year with a 3.4. Now as a junior I m trying to salvage it withe a 4.2

A weighted city college class could help you.

i don't know if UC's are now gonna put more weight on SAT I now that CB has changed it.. but if they do put more weight on it, you're definitely in at both schools. my friend who was mediocre had no trouble getting in. If you wanna shoot higher, go for Berkeley.
