I wanted to know my chances of being accepted into the UC's. I think UCLA and Berkeley are almost impossible, but ucsd ucd and uci are good possibilities. (correct me if im wrong) Also i was wondering about privates like USC and university of pacific.

Also i moved to cali during sophomore year which impacted my grades. I got 3 c's that year but in junior year i brought my GPA back up(3.75 UW, 4.25 W) and also took 4 courses at a community college.(all A's). Back in canada, i had a 3.75 UW freshman year with all honors classes. This shows i was always a strong student but immediately after the move my grades dropped. Fortunately, in junior year i got better, showing an upward trend. Incorporated this well into my essay. Will this factor and ACT score possibly make up for my low GPA?

I’m new to this so please don’t be too upset about my post. I’m quite unfimiliar with the school your talking about. But, after doing a little quick research I say you’ll have an ok chance of getting in. Your grades are phenomenal considering you took that big hit of C’s. But, moving usually is not a good excuse for colleges. The only exception I see is if your moving internationally or you moved into a more advanced school. You didn’t give many details about your EC’s or what specific major your planning on going into. If you are passionate about a certain subject and your EC’s and your course load reflects that then I say you have a good chance. But, if you are undecided I would drop that down to an ok chance.

Again don’t get discouraged by my post, I’m new and unfamiliar with your school. Just wanted to get you that post you wanted ;)

Well thanks for the post. I am actually really certain on what i want to do and i mentioned this in the essay. I want to do pre-dent or pre-med and major in the bio sciences. I have ec’s at hospitals and volunteer work at organizations like MDA which researches in neuromuscular diseases. I also mentioned my passion for helping the less fortunate and living out my Catholic faith by helping out churches and cooking meals for the homeless. My dream is to pursue a career which combines my love of science with my desire to help others.

UCSD: reach- your test scores are about the average, but your gpa isnt high enough
UCD: High Match- gpa is a bit below the average, but your sat is a bit above, 50/50 shot i would say
UCI: match- same as davis, except i would say a 60-65% shot since the stats at irvine are a bit lower

Well, if your essays highlight how you worked so hard and brought your grades up, I think…
UCSD: Reach (GPA isn’t high enough :/)… but you have a shot if your essays are good
UCD: Match - I think your SAT is decent, which makes up for your GPA
UCI: Low Match - I think you’re pretty likely to get in here

Oh yeah i was wondering which act score is better. The one i listed above or this one:
Composite:30
Math 33
English 29
Science 29
Reading 28
Eng/Writ 26
In my opinion i think the first one i took was better.
