UCSD has a fairly cut and dried point system, although it’s hard to know what next years “cut off” will be.
Why should your freshman GPA matter?

because i had D’s on my transcript. When looking at this colleges will see a huge improvement, and hopefully they view it as a positive. And do you know where to find UCSD’s point system rubric? I can’t seem to find it ANYWHERE on the web

Get those test scores up if at all possible. Your ECs are good, but your GPA is a bit lacking. Your test scores will make or break you. Good luck, work hard, and I hope to see you here next year!

“And do you know where to find UCSD’s point system rubric? I can’t seem to find it ANYWHERE on the web”

The points ave at the bottom of the page.

[UC San Diego Comprehensive Review Admission Process: Freshman Selection, Fall 2010](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/freshmen/eval-process.html)

UCSD’s admission is based on a point system so as long as you have the appropriate amount of points, you’re in. Use the chart to calculate it.

Oh, and apply for an impacted major if you’re considering it. You’re admitted in the school first, then your major, so worst case scenario you get in undeclared.

omg thank you guys soo much!
damn though, my score is a 7600… do other ucs use the same point system?

I think UCSD’s is considered the most cut and dried, but I think UCD has something similar.

UCLA and Cal definitely don’t do this. I think that’s why they call theirs “comprehensive review”

BTW, looks like that estimate in the link came very close to the 2010 cutoff.

Wonder what the estimate is this year.

If anything it will be higher this year… great -____-
