what about any other ucs?

i was kinda interested in the university of miami or florida?

hey man… just answer his question… u dont have to be all “■■■■■…” and stuff about it… just because you got into UCSD stop talking down on people please… I think you have a fairly good chance so dont worry about it… just write something spectacular down about yourself.

if you get a 2100+ and do some extra curricular your senior year you might get in depending on which major your applying as. just keep in mind that it is easier to get into ucsd as a transfer from community college then it is out of high school so theres always a second option.

If this guy was serious, then this person should have written a better formatted and more elaborate stats for us to check.

I did answer his question, chances are most likely low since his ECs are nonexistent and he’s not really in ELC unless he writes spectacular essays.

I’m putting people down because I got in. Seriously, if this person was “serious” then writing a better bio of his HS stats would have made him more serious. But w/e.

First impressions are important. This is an example of a poorly written one.

who cares about his spelling, sure he butchered schedule but whatever, just answer the question

i feel its to early to chance you accurately. GPA and SAT2’s are already little low. you need EC’s and good SAT1’s, post back again with all ur info closer to senior year

Considering that your SAT score isn’t stellar and you have no ec’s, I think UCSD is going to be a reach for you. UCSD uses a point system, so everything counts. Having no ec’s means you will get no points for that portion or leadership.

Well, if all you all remember correctly, there are very little points awarded for ECs anyway. Aside from community service (at least 100 hours), ECs aren’t really considered unless you held leadership positions or were nationally recognized for your talents in a certain area.

Therefore, let’s say you played tennis and were in an orchestra…and you didn’t have any leadership roles in either of those…then you’re basically at the same place as this person with no ECs.

Also, the essay isn’t considered, it is merely scanned to see you “overcame and life struggles” which will get you points. This means that no matter what kind of amazing essay you write, the quality of it WON’T help you get into UCSD.

The GPA is a little bit low…but don’t really worry about the SAT2’s…mine were both 570, and I got in.

I’d say your chances aren’t fantastic, but it isn’t a huge reach. Your SATs will really be the deciding factor. If you can get around 2000, I’d say you’ll have a good chance.

raise the GPA a little bit + do well on your SAT. your family background may help you.
EC’s really matter little to SD unless you have taken up leadership roles.

thanks for all the advice, err sorry for the schedule spelling…
no one said i was good at spelling or i wouldnt have a 3.7 =]
ill post my SAT scores when i get them…
any advice on getting some points for EC’s?
would doing 100 hours of community service and doing a college prep class really make a difference?

oh yeah and ive been in foster home for a few weeks but then back to momma?
do you think ide get the points for foster child? hmmm?

Honestly, why are people showing so much hatred? Didn’t we all go through this hassle ourselves several years back? It sounds like some people are trying to compensate for some regret by letting out their arrogance on others.

That being said, UCSD is probably going to be one of your reach schools given the relatively low GPA and SAT scores. In addition SD is one of those schools that put a great emphasis that. Also keep in mind that SD does not consider senior year GPA so even if you work hard next year it won’t get factored in. The range of those two scores vary very widely based off the people I have met here so there is some hope.
