chances at ucsd?

Well, if all you all remember correctly, there are very little points awarded for ECs anyway. Aside from community service (at least 100 hours), ECs aren’t really considered unless you held leadership positions or were nationally recognized for your talents in a certain area.

Therefore, let’s say you played tennis and were in an orchestra…and you didn’t have any leadership roles in either of those…then you’re basically at the same place as this person with no ECs.

Also, the essay isn’t considered, it is merely scanned to see you “overcame and life struggles” which will get you points. This means that no matter what kind of amazing essay you write, the quality of it WON’T help you get into UCSD.

The GPA is a little bit low…but don’t really worry about the SAT2’s…mine were both 570, and I got in.

I’d say your chances aren’t fantastic, but it isn’t a huge reach. Your SATs will really be the deciding factor. If you can get around 2000, I’d say you’ll have a good chance.
