Chances at UD

Hi. Recently, I visited UDel and really enjoyed it. As a New Jersey resident, Rutgers is another consideration, but at the moment these are really the only two Colleges I've looked into. My stats are decent, and I was hoping for some honest insight from people who went through the College hunting process.

School: One of the top High Schools in New Jersey, Blue Ribbon.
GPA: Not exactly sure, but around a 3.0-3.1 with an upward trend. I've done some honors classes throughout high school, and 2 APs next year.
SAT: 1780 (580 C.R., 660 Math, 540 Writing), will take it again.
Letters: One so far, probably get another soon.
Essay: Not worried about this, I'm a good writer.
Activities: I've worked at the same job for over 2 years, but haven't done many clubs (just one, Chemistry Club last year). I plan to do some volunteer work with my mom over the summer.

Not exactly sure what I'll end up majoring in, I'm thinking history at the moment, perhaps with a minor in philosophy.

Thanks in advance. :)

I think it's going to be tough unless you can really show continued upward GPA and get those CR and Writing scores up. For non-residents, your CR and Writing are below average. But Math is good -- probably near the 75%. GPA is below UDel average as well (does your school weight GPA?) . By no means is this a "no chance" message, but I am concerned about the raw numbers. I think you really need to nail the essay, study hard for the SAT re-take (if you can get all your numbers in the 600s your profile will look much better), and show a solid first semester.

Good luck.
