Chances at UGA?????

What are my chances for getting into the Univ. of Georgia.. I'm currently a junior. White male..I skipped 2nd grade so I could write a good essay on that. I plan to graduate a semester early in order to work a semester before college to save up.

GPA on transcript (I think weighted?): Estimated around 3.9 give or take .5 both ways depending on 2 of my classes.
SAT (only taken once): 1650 (Math:610, Writing: 510, Reading: 530) (1140 on Math/Reading alone)

I've taken the following AP Courses: (When I say teacher sucked, please note I go to a school that well, yeah, is terrible and the teachers play games all day)

AP Chemistry (95 in class, didn't take AP Test because the teacher never taught anything)
AP Statistics (78 in class, didn't take AP Test because the teacher didn't recommend it haha, he was terrible as well and told noone to take it)
AP US History (85 in class, 1 on AP Test, again teacher sucked.)
AP Government (Current 90 in class, plan on taking AP Test)
AP MicroEconomics (Current 81 in class, plan on taking AP Test)

I've also taken Honors Biology, Honors 9th Lit, Honors Chemistry, Honors World Hist, Honors American Lit, Pre-IB Spanish 2 (For some reason I was in a pre-ib class?),

I won't need any financial aid or anything of that nature.

Extracurriculars include (please tell me if I cannot include any listed):

Varsity Tennis Team (4yrs)

Varsity Tennis Team Captain (2yrs)

Varsity Tennis Team Manager (2yrs)

FCA

Work at Chickfila

National Honors Society

Maybe 1-2 more clubs next year before apps to put on there like The real majority

Also, I want my major to be Business, and eventually may want to go into Law.

look at your transcript and calculate a UGA GPA so we can accurately chance you. or post your transcript on here so someone can calculate it for you.

Oh sorry, my UGA GPA is (I calculated it) 3.633

Right now it is a reach for you, but if you get your scores up to high 1200s you will have a good chance.

I have a 1160/1600 and a 3.75 UGA GPA lol and I on the waitinglist this year…if that help.

I’ve got a 3.8 GPA and a 30 ACT. Planning on retaking for maybe a 31 if I can pull my math section up from a 27.

I didn’t do so hot on the SAT. Didn’t prepare at all and got a 1200. Hoping to retake with some tutoring and studying and maybe get around a 1350.

Should I get in early coming from a very competitive school with lots of APs?

TylerJohnson,

Kid, I hope your real name isn’t Tyler Johnson.

Take some advice from an old guy, be aware of internet security concerns.

If I am missing some clever, youthful literary or popular culture allusion, just chalk it up to my being aged and out of touch.

My D is at UGA and loves it.

You need to take a commercial SAT review course (No, I do not have stock in companies offering such). There are a number of good ones. Practice, Practice, Practice!!! It helps.

it looks bad if you don’t take the test, remember, the school doesn’t see your ap score until after you’re accepted, just whether or not you took the test. there are 4 prompted short essays you have to write, so remember you can’t base everything on you skipping 2nd grade, even though i’m sure you could tie it in somewhere.

college’s also don’t care about how many ec you have, they care more about how long you have done them, don’t stretch yourself too far

BTW, if you do not get your scores up, make sure to apply Regular Decision, not early, and give your teachers plenty of time to write recommendations.
