Could you chance me at Oxford in UK, LSE, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, UCHicago, UWashington, Stanford, Claremont McKenna, and McGill, UofT, Waterloo, Queen's, and UBC

(I'm actually really hoping to go to Oxford, I just visited and love it here)

Schools I would love to go to (in this general order):
Oxford
Princeton
LSE
Harvard
Yale

Schools I would like to go to:
UChicago
GTown
Stanford
Cl. Mckenna
Canadian schools except UBC

Safeties (I think):
UW and UBC

My thoughts:

I’m afraid I may have misled you in terms of UBC’s selectivity. I hadn’t looked at the raw numbers lately, and their admissions % is down to 41% (lower than McGill). Your stats are impressive and I would expect you to get in, but I wouldn’t call it a safety.

The same goes for the other Canadian schools. Your stats look fine to me, but I just don’t feel comfortable recommending them as safeties. Remember that your 12th grade schedule and grades are very, very important in Canada, so keep up the good work. That SAT score will be helpful, but the academic record matters more than anything else. I wouldn’t expect your ECs to play a role, but if you took the AMC you should submit your scores to Waterloo (if you apply there).

If you’re in-state at Udub, it makes a fine safety. If not, apply somewhere else as well. I would be shocked if they rejected you, but you should have an absolute safety to count on.

Since Oxford is heavily based on numbers, I think you have a fantastic chance at getting to the interview process.

Anyone else?

Bump…

Is this a lost cause? I don’t wanna promise any chances seeing as I’m not experienced and don’t wanna give bogus comments
