Chances at UMBC?

So, here's the thing:

20yo from Venezuela, where high school is mostly taken as a five-year joke, so, my GPA is 2.6. Haven't taken the SAT, but doing it next month and I think I'm pretty fine for the test.

I have a good catalog of EC activities: Founding my school's lit club and presiding it for four consecutive years, editor-in-chief of the school's newspaper for a year, organised and led a volunteer group for hospital work for two years, etc. Nothing extremely impressive, but good stuff.

I also have three years of undergrad (chem) studies, worth nothing, as the credits are non-transferrable.

I'm applying for linguistic studies.

Looks like a terrible position, indeed, but do I have any chances?

By the way, I'm a polyglot. I have full command of Spanish (mother tongue), English (started learning it at), Italian (spoken at home) and Catalan. I'm also learning french and navajo.
