CLick on scattergrams and go to UMCP

THere is a lot of examples there, 750, so that should be helpful. MANY more will be uploaded soon. MY friend got a look at the newspaper for my high school that has the names of the colleges the students are going to and according to him and a few others there is an amazing 200 students in my class of 06 going there from my school.

On a 1600 scale I think a 1250 is a good score to have for Maryland but the average is even higher. I think that again this may fall into spring admission. Earlier today I was talking with a friend and said that it seems that people with 3.6W and 1200s are starting to get spring admission which is funny because those are your exact stats. Now I do think that you do have good enough ECs and your class schedule next year is strong. I really think you should aim for maybe a few more points on the SAT and you will be in good shape to call it a fit for fall admission.

Remember, pic up a few SAT points, a 1250 and top 25% should do it in my opinion but the average SAT is 1270 and is said to be getting harder. Also make sure you apply before Dec. 1st for the priority deadline or your chances are really hurt.

be sure to stick with some of your ECs next year!! i see that you have a lot of sporadic ones that you did and then stopped (i guess?). remember that it's quality, not quantity, when it comes to things like that on your app.

Those SAT scores are your biggest detriment.

As far as the clubs/ECs go, any executive positions? Admissions people are more concerned with quality participation as opposed to just saying you're a member of a million and one clubs.

Maybe the others who are sayin you might not are right, but I think you have a very good chance of getting in. My gpa was like..3.7 I'm not sure though lol, got a 1290 on my SAT (i didnt even pay attention to the writing portion, can't think in terms of 2400 yet), ranked 47/330, and I only took 3 classes my senior year, two of which were AP...I did go to the community college after school though. The only activities I did in all of high school was cheerleading and class council for one year. I got in to College Park and also the Scholars Program. Sooo as you can see I wasn't outstanding in high school, and I got comfortably in. Good luck =)
