Chances at UMich when app sent 1/1/05?

Hey everyone, I just found out recently that my parents are planning on moving away from PA, which totally screwed up my plans of going to CMU/Penn State. I've decided to apply to mich since it will be closer to our new residence, however I'm sending the application in January since I've already missed my school's 1/1 deadline. :( Since the admission will be fairly competitive I was wondering what my chances would be if I submitted my application in January.

Asian Male
Projected Major: Engineering
Best total SAT (not composite): 1330 (620V 710M)
Composite SAT: 1400 (620V 780M) <~ don't think mich looks at composites :(
GPA: 95.3 (Weighted; not sure about UW)
5 AP's (most allowed in our schedule): European history, English, Bio, Physics, BC Calc
pretty slick essays and recs too (hopefully)

EC's:
Orchestra/Symphony Orchestra (9-12)
Fall Play - 11th
10th grade play - 10th
Spring Musicals - 11th, 12th (I'm very theatre oriented....our school productions take a lot of commitment)
Various science clubs...a few leadership roles in those (Enviornmental, Physics, Bio)
Young Democrats
Student Council
National Honor Society and stuff...awards...nothing too major ;P

Work experience:
2 years of work in food service over the summer
12th grade - working at the cancer institute at the med center on website programming/maintenence for a heavily funded research website

I'm really worried (mostly SAT and GPA wise), so any input will be great. Thanks.

young dems will work against you...

And...how does that work?

since youll be in Michigan, look into Purdue..they have one of the best engineering schools in the nation

Bump please...I really need input. :(

gotta say dude, it's a little late, but as long as your uw average (that's pretty much what they look at) is A to A- range unweighted, i'd say you have nothing to worry about. your SAT is just fine for Michigan.

Michigan's GPA recalculation goes like this. For a sememster, if it's an A, B, or C, strip off the minuses and plusses. an A gets u a 4, B gets a 3, etc. average all the semsters in your 10th and 11th grade. there's your GPA for Michigan. i'm not sure what perecentage constitutes an A- to an A, but unless that's some pretty heavy weighting there, and if you took challenging courses, u'r prolly in!

good luck, michigan is first choice for me! hopefully i see u there, lol!

wait, i just realized ur out of state. i gotta tell you, that's gonna make it a little harder. i'm not sure how much harder, but I'd still say that you at least have a great chance.

Hey, thanks. Yeah, I'm out of state and my mich GPA is ~3.68. :\ Good luck, qqa. If anyone else has anything to add please do so.... I'm so desperate. :(

me 2, im applying mich w/ mich gpa of 3.77, sat of 1340, everything else average, but I'm also out of state...do I have a chance? O and I'm applying today, I know its crazy!
